How to flip a coin online
- Agree on which option is heads and which is tails. You can rename the sides (for example, "I pay" and "You pay").
- Click the coin, the "Flip the coin" button or press the space bar.
- The coin spins and lands on one side. The result appears below and goes into the score and history.
- To decide several things at once, pick more than one coin (up to 10).

Is the result fair?
The side is chosen before the animation, using the browser’s random number generator, and each side has a 50% chance. The animation only shows the coin landing on the side already chosen.
Nothing is stored on a server and flips do not affect the next ones: the score is just for you to follow along.

What to use it for
- Deciding who starts a game, who pays the bill or who does the next task.
- Breaking a tie between two options when both work.
- Teaching probability: flip 10 coins several times and compare the score with 50%.
- Having a coin at hand when you do not have one in your pocket.

What this tool does not do
- It is not for decisions about money, health or safety: use criteria, not chance.
- It does not keep the score between visits: it stays on the page while it is open.
- It does not choose between more than two options: for that, use the name picker wheel.
Frequently asked questions about flipping a coin online
How does the online coin flip work?
You flip a virtual coin with a click or the space bar. The tool picks heads or tails at random, with a 50% chance for each side, and shows the result with the coin spinning.
Is the online coin flip fair?
Yes. The side is chosen with the browser’s random number generator, favoring neither. Every flip is independent of the previous one.
Can I change the names heads and tails?
Yes. Type what each side stands for, for example "Pizza" and "Burger", and the coin shows those names. You can copy a link with the names you chose.
Can I flip more than one coin?
Yes. Choose from 1 to 10 coins. They spin together and the score adds up how many landed on each side.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. The coin works in the browser on a computer or phone, with no sign-up and no download.
Does it have sound?
Yes, a short sound when you flip and when it lands. You can turn it off with the "Sound" option.
How is it different from a real coin?
The virtual coin uses a random number generator and gives 50% to each side. With a physical coin, the force and the way you flip it can matter a little, and the coin in your pocket may come from another country, with a different design.
