How to roll dice online
- Choose how many dice (1 to 10) and how many sides each has: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20 or D100.
- If your game asks for it, enter a modifier (for example, +3 or −2), which is added to the total.
- Click the dice, the "Roll the dice" button or press the space bar.
- The dice roll and the total shows up on a card in front of them, with the sum and each die’s face.

How the result is decided
The number on each die is chosen before the animation, using the browser’s random number generator, and every face has the same chance. The animation only shows the dice stopping on the values already chosen.
Each die is independent of the others and of earlier rolls. The history is just for you to follow along.

Which dice are available
- D6: the common six-sided die, shown with the usual pips.
- D4, D8, D10, D12 and D20: the polyhedral tabletop RPG dice, shown with the number.
- D100: rolls from 1 to 100, useful for percentages and tables.
- 2D6: two six-sided dice added together, common in board games. A 7 is the most likely sum, with 6 chances in 36.

What the tool does not do
- It does not replace the rules of a specific game: it rolls the dice and adds them, and you apply the rule.
- It does not keep the history between visits: it stays on the page while it is open.
- It accepts up to 10 dice per roll.
Frequently asked questions about rolling dice online
How do I roll a die online?
Choose the number of dice and sides, click "Roll the dice" (or press the space bar) and the result appears right away, with the sum.
Is the online die fair?
Yes. Each face is chosen with the browser’s random number generator, with the same chance for all. One roll does not influence the next.
Which dice can I use?
D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20 and D100, from 1 to 10 dice per roll.
What is a D20 and what is it for?
It is a 20-sided die, widely used in tabletop RPGs for success checks. The "D" stands for "die" and the number is how many faces it has.
How does the modifier work?
It is a number, positive or negative, added to the total after the dice are rolled. For example, 1D20 with +3 gives the die face plus 3.
Can I roll two dice and add them?
Yes. Choose 2 dice with 6 sides, and the total shows the sum along with each die’s value.
Is the result sent to a server?
No. The roll happens in your browser and nothing is sent or stored by the tool.
